From 1971 (between 1968 & 1971), there was no distinction made between backs & forwards in the awards, with an award given for 'Best Colt'. In 1977 the awards became 'Best Forward Juniors' & 'Best Back Juniors' and there was an award for 'Most Improved Juniors'. In 1981 a distinction was made between U18s and other Juniors. From 1980, the Seniors' Awards failed to include any Juniors' awards.
