On my return to Melbourne after 5 weeks holiday I went with several members of MRUFC to watch the Force play the Storm. Brocky was starting fly with Henjack at half. A great game in appauling conditions ( hot and steamy ). The crusaders ended beating force by 10 points. I called out to Brocky during his warm up and he came over to the rabble to say Gday post match. I hadnt seen him for many years...hasnt changed !!!!! "Its amazing to think of the standard of rugby he is playing"( quoted from a LEGEND fellow Croc ). I was pleased he made the effort to say Gday.

I just noticed my brother's meandering thoughts and general lack of modesty. In pariculalr, I noted with interst his statement "Oh, to be the mother of his babies". Someone should point out that he would need to have sex with a women someone to achieve that. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all.

I couldn't resist adding my two cents worth to Owen Clarke's response about the award in his name. I had the privilege (?) of playing with Owen during our time at Old Colls and I think I was one of those who christened him "The Boot". Mind you, in those days our kicking ranks were so depleted that we resorted to a kicking competition mid season to see if we had any other kickers in the club. From memory either Sandy or John Douglas featured highly in the result so that was a fair indication of why Owen was the leading kick scorer that year. We did have a lot of fun though - apart from Richard W., we had such luminaries as Harry Clark and Doc Douglas of current members. I'm pretty sure it was Owen who started all the fights but he always denied this. Anyway, I am always glad to see his name on the award. Cheers Roger McDaniel

Nicky Walsh. Such nice words. I have spoken to Eddie and told him to stay with the job as I am coaching my schools year 6 soccer team. Time commitments you know. We hope to see you for season 2006. Always a fun season when you are here

rumoour has it that eddie jones is coming under immense pressure to step down due to the overwhelming popularity and coaching masterclass that is now known to be the raymond factor. a write up in the tregenza times has highlighted his extra ordinary talent and he is now officially the number 1 choice.

Graham Raymond

Last weekend I had the honour of witnessing some true rugby magic.Graham Raymond again proved to the watching public that even at his age he still poccesses all the skills that must have Eddie Jones wishing he would make a come back to serious rugby. In the area of 70 m I counted, 24 sidesteps, 7 dummies, 3 swerves, 6 chip kicks and regathers, plus one amazing cross kick that went across field and was collected by Graham himself and then ran untouched under the posts. After this amazing feat he proceeded to convert his own try left footed. The man is a rugby magician. My eyes filled with tears as I watched this incredible display. Oh to be the mother of his babies.

I've just checked yesterday's results and see that the 4ths and Women's teams are now joining the 1sts in the senior Grand Finals next week. No doubt there are Juniors teams also playing for the big prize. Well done to all concerned after such a shaky start to the season. It shows real commitment to the game plan and confidence in everyone's ability to get it right without panicking. I'll watch Saturday's results with great interest, in between voting in the New Zealand election and going to see Wellington play Southland in the NPC match here in Wellington. I hasn't been much fun as an Australian in NZ over the past few weeks, although I did manage to remind everyone that, in reality, the All Blacks had in fact only just scraped in against Australia's Reserve Grade. It made no difference, of course. Good luck to all the players, and I hope to see you all soon. Cheers, Andrew Secker

Well done for the Grand Final winners. What a great result. Sydney is going well and I am enjoying the Rugby here, I have been reffing a number of games mainly the schoolboy stuff. Take care and anyone who comes to Sydney drop me a line if you feel like a beer. Chris Pearl.

I'm pleased to see in my absence we have a new player.

Graham Raymond

Just saw Graham Raymond at the rugby the other day, for an old man he is looking amazing. His body is hard and chizeled, his eyes are sparkling and the vision of his hair blowing in the wind as he sprinted untouched down the side line was a dream.

What a month of great results for the 1st's, keep going. I imagine Hamish and Harry (Harrish Clarke) have sampled a few beers and contributed to the club's brewery turnover this month!!!!!
